One of my perennial goals is to blog on a regular basis. While I always have the best of intentions, sometimes that falls by the wayside as life gets in the way. The New Year kicked off for me with a Mother with a detached retina and a sister in the ICU for seven days. To my pageant family, friends and Facebook contacts, I appreciate all of the prayers and support that you have sent to my family. It means so much! Things are moving in the right direction and that is all I can hope for.
My blog is late for 2015, but we are still in January. I hope that your New Year’s Resolutions have something great in mind– pageantry, perhaps. This year, the Crowned Princess Charm Pageant has moved to Louisville, KY at the Ramada Inn Conference Center, April 24 and 25, 2015. I do hope that you will join us. Whether you are new to pageants or a veteran, we promise a fun time for you! I also need your assistance. I am seeking a theme for the pizza party this year. Any ideas? Brochures for the pageant have been printed , but with all of the family being ill, I have not had a chance to get them out. If you would like one mailed to you, please email or call (859)492-3025. The January Special will be extended until February 14, – to show my love for pageantry! Contestants can enter age division and specialty awards for $100. This offer will expire on Valentine’s Day! I require the $30 application fee to be paid at that time. You can call the pageant office at (859)492-3025 to pay by credit card or via PayPal at Karen@distinct-impressions.net.

Contestants in our system will compete in interview (4 and up), casual wear and formal wear. In addition, there are over 10 different optionals to choose from. We are a great starter pageant and strive to help your child succeed.

Pageant Update before Nationals

Time has certainly flown by, and we are ready for a wonderful pageant weekend. I have to say, that this group is one of the best I have worked with in a long time. Your attention to detail and willingness and cooperation in turning items in on time has been wonderful.
That being said, there are a couple of housekeeping items I need to go over. I look forward to working with you and having a great pageant weekend. A reminder, payments are due this week for any outstanding balances. Please be advised that we will only accept cash onsite. If you wish to pay by credit card or PayPal you will need to do so before Friday, April 25, 2014.
Once onsite at the hotel, you will receive your t-shirt along with your contestant number and interview times. This week and next, I will be sending you final invoices.
Pictures for Program Book- If you have not done so already, I need to have your picture for the program book no later than April 17, 2014. If pageant staff do not have pictures by this date, text that reads : Photo Not Available
Pageant Applications- Due by April 19. This is the packet that you have received. This goes in the judges notebooks and for their review.
Studio Primetime– The official photographers and videographers of the 2014 Crowned Prince and Princess Charm Pageant. Please be advised that there is no photography or videography allowed in the hotel ballroom with the exception of Studio Primetime.
Pageant Rehearsal– An optional pageant rehearsal will be held on Friday, April 25 at 7:30p.m. Miss Dawn, the official pageant emcee will be there to answer any questions that you may have.
Need Hair and Make-up? Contact Rhonda Phillips at (502)319-0936. She accepts texts during the day. She will be onsite at the hotel , but please contact her directly and make arrangements with her as soon as possible.
Pageant Workshop- A pageant workshop will be conducted on Saturday, April 26, 2014 in the Assembly Ballroom at 10am and conclude at 12pm. If you wish to attend the Pageant Workshop the final deadline to register is April 19. The workshop is $30 and includes training materials for the contestant and guest.
Mandatory Parent/ Child Pageant Orientation- We will have a mandatory parent/child pageant orientation on Saturday, April 26 at 12:15p.m. We will go over the pageant weekend and what to expect.
Optionals– If you wish to add any optionals , please let me know no later than April 19, 2014.
Pizza Party- If you wish to attend the pizza party, please advise no later than April 19, 2014. The party will have a Mardis Gras theme and we will be doing some very exciting things. Tickets are $10 each. We have a lot of fun games planned- you do not want to miss it! Party will be held after the Optional competition on Saturday, April 26.
Door Decorating Contest- Contestants will have the opportunity to compete and put their crafty skills to good use. Decorate your door ( nothing that will stick to the door-i.e. glue, etc.)and a judging panel will come by. Winners will be announced at the Pizza Party and recognized onstage during pageant finals.
Supreme Titles– Supreme awards are awarded in the Tiny Miss through Tiny Tot division, Young Miss and Preteen division, Young Teen through Ms. divisions. In addition, there will be a Novice Supreme that is reserved for the contestant that has entered four or less pageants in their lifetime. One Ultimate Grand Supreme will be awarded to the contestant that has the highest cumulative score of the pageant. In order to qualify, you must enter the Supreme optional. Winners will receive Cash! Crowns! 6 foot trophies! Entry for the Supreme optional is $50.00
Overall Ad Sales Queen- The overall Ad Sales Queen is awarded to the contestant with the most ad sales. Winner will receive a huge crown, sash, and trophy. In addition, they will receive a free entry into next year’s pageant. Deadline for ad is April 17, 2014.
Humanitarian Award- The charity of choice is a no kill animal shelter called Life House. The contestant that donates the most items that include dog treats, cat treats, toys, litter boxes, trash bags, etc will be crowned. A crown and sash will be awarded to the winner.
Pageantry Spirit Award-The person that exemplifies and exudes the wonderful sportsmanship and the true meaning of pageantry- through actions with others, etc. This person will receive the Pageantry Spirit Award named for Pageantry Magazine. The winner will be featured in Pageantry magazine.
Mommy & Me/ Daddy & Me: This is an opportunity for Moms and Dads alike to get onstage with their children and have some fun. Entry is $25.00 per parent/child duo. Winners will receive a silver tray.
Onstage Introduction- All ages will have an onstage introduction. Each contestant and his or her parent if under age will escort their child onstage. Name, contestant number, hometown and an interesting fact about yourself should be included. The onstage introduction is conducted before the Casual Wear and Formal Wear Competition.
**Note: The T-shirts are deep purple in color with white and silver lettering . The back of the shirt has the 10 year logo. You will need to wear black pants, capris, shorts or a skirt. Shoes can be tennis shoes or flats. If you wish, you may embellish the shirt. If you have not already advised pageant staff of your size, you will need to do so ASAP. Cost of t-shirt is $15.00 each.
Hotel still accepting reservations- The Capital Plaza Hotel is the official host hotel of the 2014 Crowned Prince and Princess Charm Pageant. Please contact the hotel at (502)227-5100 in order to make your reservations. A lodging rate is available for families and their contestants at the rate of $94 per night single/ double occupancy.
Just a friendly reminder that if you have ever thought about competing in the Crowned Prince and Princess Charm Pageant, the time to act is now. We will crown 4 Overall Supremes, 1 Novice Supreme( 4 or less pageants), and one Ultimate Grand Supreme. We hope to see you in Frankfort, KY! You could be wearing that 10 inch crown and carrying home a 6 foot trophy and a little extra cash in your pocket. Enter age division and specialty awards for $130.00. A non-refundable $30 application fee is required for you to be officially registered.
The early bird rate of $100 has been extended to February 28. The pageant office must have your $30.00 application fee turned by this date to qualify for the Early Bird Rate. Once your application fee is received, you will receive your official confirmation packet and be officially registered in the 2014 Crowned Prince and Princess Charm Pageant.
Join us in celebrating our tenth anniversary. During pageant weekend we will crown 8 division winners and 5 Overall Supremes , plus one Overall Grand Supreme! Do not let this opportunity pass you by.
