Summary of Deadlines and Updates 2012 Crowned Princess Charm Pageant
We have a fun weekend in store for contestants at the 2012 Crowned Prince and Princess Charm Pageant. The 2012 Crowned Prince and Princess Charm Pageant is exactly one month away. It is vital that you review this information. I am very excited about this year’s event. In our 8th year of pageantry, we have added a ” Roaring 1920′s Wear and an onstage personal introduction for the Young Miss through Ms. Division. I am looking forward to meeting and working with all of our contestants this year.
Pageant Applications -Due by April 1, 2012
The Crowned Prince and Princess Charm Pageant completed pageant applications are due in the pageant office by April 1, 2012. These applications will be seen by the judges and will be read onstage by the emcee.
Overall Ad Sales Queen - Ad Deadline is April 1, 2012
If you are planning to place an ad in the 2012 pageant, deadline is April 1, and the contestant that enters the most Ads will win the Overall Ad Sales Queen and receive a free entry in the 2012 pageant, plus have their picture featured in the official Crowned Prince and Princess Charm souvenir program,
PAGEANT UPDATES
Picture for Souvenir Program due by April 1, 2012
If you have not done so already, I will need your picture for the official Crowned Prince & Princess Charm souvenir program. I have most of them, but if you have not submitted one, you must do so by April 1, 2012. If not, there will be white space in the brochure that reads: Photo Not Available. However, the following will be listed:
1.) Contestants Name
2.) Daughter/Son of ____ & _____ of ____, IN
3.) Hometown
T-Shirt Order Form - Due by April 1, 2012
If you are in the Young Miss through the Ms. divisions, it is imperative that you send your order form for the t-shirt. Contestants will be required to wear their t-shirt with black shorts, or pants. The onstage introduction will take place before the casual wear competition on Sunday, April 22, 2012. Contestants are asked to approach the microphone and say their name, where they are from, and an interesting fact about themselves. Introductions can be no longer than 30 seconds.
Capital Plaza Hotel Information - Room block expires on April 1, 2012- Act now!
The Capital Plaza Hotel located at 405 Wilkinson BLVD, Frankfort, KY, is the official host hotel of the 2012 Crowned Prince and Princess Charm Pageant. Room rates are available at a rate of $89.00 single/double occupancy. A room block is available until April 1, 2012. After that date, the rate cannot be guaranteed. You must state that you are attending the 2012 Crowned Prince and Princess Charm Rate to book your lodging room. To make your reservation, please contact Marie Murray at (502)227-5100.
Adding Optional Categories
The 2012 Crowned Prince & Princess Charm Pageant is two weeks away. I am looking forward to meeting all of our new contestants as well as seeing our returning ones. I have some general housekeeping items for your review.
If you wish to add any optionals or if you have not yet selected them, please do so as soon as possible or by April 17, 2012 so that I can get your emcee cards prepared accordingly. Studio Primetime Information Scheduling On Location Super Shoot
As we approach the 2012 Crowned Prince & Princess Charm Pageant, I would like to let you know that Afif and Sara Cherif of Studio Primetime out of Atlanta , Georgia have once again been selected as the official photographers and videographers of the 2012 Crowned Prince & Princess Charm Pageant. No photographs or video is allowed in the ballroom other than Studio Primetime. They have several different packages available if you are interested. Hair and Make-up by Christine Wright of Ohio
Christine Wright is the official hair and make-up artist for the 2012 Crowned Prince and Princess Charm Pageant. If you are interested in booking with Christine, please email her at glamgirl24@hotmail.com
Born and raised in Ohio, Christine started competing in pageants at the age of 13. She was a semi-finalist and runner up in the Miss Teen USA and Miss UsA pageant system. In 2007 Christine won the title of Mrs. Ohio America 2007. In between pageants she models, has been featured in TV commercials, and a national fashion magazine. Christine now shares her love of pageantry by making girls look their absolute best by providing hair and make-up service. Some of Christine’s clients have won state and national titles in the National American Miss, Miss American Coed, and Miss USA pageants. She is EXCITED about being apart of Crowned Princess Charm Pageant and making pageant weekend stress free and helping you put your best face forward!

Pageant Registration - Friday, April 22, and Saturday April 21
Assembly Ballroom Foyer Registration will be open from 5:00p.m. -8:30p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2011. If you are attending the rehearsal and wish to register early you can. Registration will resume on Saturday at 8:00a.m. until the close of the optional categories.
In order to expedite the registration process, please register in the following timeframes by child’s last name, this will make it easier on everyone:
- A-G 5:00p.m.-5:30p.m.
- H-N 5:30p.m.-6:00p.m.
- O-S 6:30p.m.-7:00p.m.
- T-Z 7:00p.m.-7:30 p.m.
If you miss one of the scheduled timeframes , you may register on Saturday beginning at 8:00a.m.
You will receive your official contestant number, interview time and agenda upon check-in with the pageant office. Any remaining balances will be due at that time. I will be working on updating invoices. Please be advised at registration, only cash is accepted. However, you may pay by check or credit card up until the pageant date of April 20, 2012. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Tickets - Everyone must purchase a ticket other than a contestant. In your packets, you received prepaid tickets. If tickets are prepaid they are $10.00 each and if they are sold at the door they are $12.00 each per day. The doors will open for seating 30 minutes before the event starts.
Pageant Rehearsal - Friday, April 20, 2012 at 7:30p.m. Eastern Daylight Time – Assembly Ballroom
The rehearsal will take place on Friday night at 7:30p.m. This is not mandatory, but recommended. We will go over the flow of the competition. In addition, the emcee will read your bio so you can get a feel for the stage and the ballroom. It is not a dress rehearsal, so no need to wear your pageant clothes, but you might want to wear your shoes that you will be walking in your attire. You will receive contestant numbers at that time. We will have adhesive badges for use for your contestant numbers
Pageant Workshop - Saturday, April 20, 2012 at 8:00a.m. Eastern Standard Time – Assembly Ballroom
There will be a pageant workshop conducted on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 9:30a.m. For those attending, please let me know by April 17 if there are any specific topics that you would like to address. Tips for modeling, stage presence and clothing will be addressed just to name a few. Cost is $50.00 for yourself and a guest and does include handouts;
Parent/ Child Orientation - Assembly Ballroom, 1st Floor
If you cannot make it to the rehearsal, or you need some additional clarification, the orientation is the place to be. Pageant staff will answer any questions, concerns that you may have. We will go over the order of optionals and the general flow of the pageant. I will have helpers backstage to help you get lined up. A parent is welcome backstage to assist their children.
Contestant Interviews - Glass Room, 1st Floor
Contestant Interviews will take place in the Glass room. When you register onsite at the hotel for the pageant, in your packet you will be given an approximate interview time. Contestants are instructed to be downstairs at the Glass Room foyer no later than 10 minutes before their scheduled interview time. Interviews for children 3 years of age or the Tiny Tot division are 3 minutes instead of the 5 minute timeframe allotted for Young Miss through Teen Divisions.
Contestant Changing Room - Seminar Room, 1st Floor
There will be a contestant changing room located in the Seminar room on the 1st floor. Room will be available starting one hour before the competition starts- Saturday, April 21, 2012- it will be open at 5:00p.m. and Sunday, April 22, 2012 it will be open at 8:00a.m.
Optional - Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 5:30p.m., Assembly Ballroom, 1st Floor
The optional categories are a great way to showcase your style and flair. Contestants must enter at least one optional as part of their competition. Optionals will be in a certain order and I will advise when it gets closer to time. If you are not competing in any optional that requires a wardrobe change—I.e. prettiest hair, prettiest eyes, prettiest smile, it is recommended that you keep your interview attire on. Physical attribute optionals will be judged by a line-up in each age division. The optionals that require the outfit changes will go first, you are to remain in your last outfit change (except 1980’s wear) and are ready for onstage line-up of physical attributes awards, and speech competition. The 1980’s wear will be last as that requires a little more wildness, as those of us that grew up in that era know. * You are allowed to have props in optionals this year!
** Please note at the hotel, you will receive a card and must write your outfit description on the card for the emcee to read—this will also be the case for casual wear.
Mommy, Me & Pageantry & Daddy, Me & Pageantry
This competition, allows the parents to get onstage with their children and showcase their flair for the stage. Contestants will be judged on originality and overall appearance. Prizes will be awarded. This is scheduled on Saturday, April 21, 2012 during the optionals after 1950’s Wear and before Patriotic Wear. If you are interested, please email me or let us know at registration so that we can add you to the list.
Best Bio/ Resume
This is awarded in all divisions. It should be a one to two page overview of the contestants life. Interesting facts, accomplishments that go above and beyond what is asked in the application packet. These may be turned in at registration
Most Pageant Referrals
This is awarded to the contestant that has made the most referrals in each age division. To be turned in at registration.
Payments – We will only accept cash on the hotel property.
Do you have great decorating skills? The Crowned Prince & Princess Charm Door Decorating Contest is for you! During pageant weekend, you can participate in this fun competition if you are staying at the hotel. Simply, decorate the outside of your door with your best pageant and diva flair. The only catch is that you must use tape and you must remove the decorations from your door upon your departure. (Otherwise, the hotel may charge you a clean-up fee). Judging will take place on Saturday night and pageant staff will announce the winner at the Pizza Party. All you need to do is let us know at registration if you are participating in this event and your room number for judging.
Pizza Party - If you have not done so and wish to register for the pizza party you can do that onsite at the hotel. Please do this when you register so that we can get an accurate count. Pizza party tickets are $10.00 per person. The Door Decorating Contest winner will be announced at the party. In addition, the door decorating winner will be announced onstage at the pageant and will be featured in the next newsletter.
Photogenic - You may turn in your photographs for the photogenic competition at the hotel. Please be advised you are allowed to submit one complimentary photo with your $20.00 or $15.00 entry fee. There will be an additional charge of $10.00 for each additional photo submitted.
